Bench Making for Beaver!
For our third interaction at Beaver Street Park, we’ll be making some cinderblock benches to paint and install along the fence line! Bring some gloves, pickers, and trash bags to clean up some of the park, dirty clothes that can get paint on them, and your thinking caps so we can talk about the new mural sketch!
Beaver Street Mural Community Engagement: Liberty and Justice Portraits
Calling all Beaver Street neighbors!
Join us for Day Two of our community engagement to make self-portrait collages about what Liberty and Justice mean to you! We’ll install the portraits in a temporary mural space as we also talk about the mural design and the future of Beaver Street Park.
Trauma-Informed Facilitation For Artists (by Candy Gonzalez)
Visual artist, poet and teacher Candy Gonzalez will host a Trauma-Informed Facilitation workshop for artists. This workshop will equip artist with tactics, strategies and research of how to work with groups of people around sensitive topics, difficult events and how to facilitate in more equitable and supportive ways.
Beaver Street Photo Sessions
Join visual artists Eleazar Jimenez and Salina Almanzar as they gather input for the new Beaver Street Mural! Every Saturday, Eleazar and Salina will be hosting an opportunity to give feedback on the mural concept, make temporary public artworks, and eventually paint on the wall!
On April 10th, we will be taking portraits of Beaver Street neighbors as we think about the sentence “Beaver Street is…”.
seed project will provide masks and hand sanitizer and request that all participants maintain a safe distance and keep their masks on during interactions.
Artists of Color Working in Communities Panel
A Panel of community-engaged artists sharing their experiences and ideas on being a working artist and working in communities and neighborhoods they care about. Panelists will take questions from participants and connect over a series of topics. This event is free and open to the public!
